Language Skills Course for Teachers
It is aimed at teachers from primary, secondary or adult education, who are required to teach their subjects in Italian. The course focuses on enhancing and improving the participants' language and teaching skills, while also presenting an opportunity to observe how the Italian school curriculum is taught. In addition, participants will be exposed to Italian culture while living with an Italian host family. The teaching element concentrates on everyday, general Italian and includes specific classroom language usage and management.
- There are 1 and 2 week courses available (Monday – Saturday). These programmes are also eligible for EU funding through Grundtvig and Leonardo da Vinci VETPRO. (Ref.number for the Comernius-Grundtvig Training Database is: UK-2008-768-010).
- Leonardo submission date for 2010: To be announced.
- Applications are closed one month before the enrolment date.
- Maximum group / class size is 8 and minimum is 4.
The course package includes tuition (6 Elements in a one-week course OR 12 Elements in a two-week course), training and workshops (7 Workshops in a one-week course OR 12 Workshops in a two-week course), a programme of cultural visits and full-board host family business class accommodation. The minimum language level required is Intermediate/B1.
It is also available the option of arranging a placement with job-shadowing at schools.
